January 4th, 2012

I finished my summer doing AO! at White Sulphur Springs weighing under 200 lbs.  I ended 2011 at a peak of 265.  I want to lose weight and a lot of it.  My goal is 50 pounds.

I'm going to document my diet and exercise here.  I'm committing to keep an honest record for the next year.  My hope is that you'll help with accountability, advice, recipes, etc...  Check in every once in a while and leave comments.  Ask me what's going on if I stop posting.

Plan for starting:
Diet: Low carb, pretty paleo
Exercise: Low intensity cardio at least 2 hours a week.  Heavy weight lifting at least twice a week.

  1. I think posting as a way of accountability is great idea. Also encouragement to others.
I would encourage anyone with a set amount of weight they want to lose to pick up that much weight using dumbbells, barbell or a suitcase, etc, and just feel what that weight feels like. So pick up 50 lbs (the weight of a full suitcase on a plane trip) and feel the weight and think about how much better your body will feel when you are no longer carrying that weight around.
One thing I like about Crossfit is realizing that a workout doesn't always have to be long to be effective so today I will share the Crossfit WOD that I observed when I went to visit Crossfit last week. Simple, quick and effective to whip out sometime when you don't have much time.
For time, 4 rounds of 15 pushups, 20 full situps, and 30 squats. Won't take long to do.
